2015 AAAAI Annual Meeting AAP Section on Allergy and Immunology Outstanding Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Abstract Awards for Fellows-in-Training and Junior Faculty Award Application

The Section on Allergy and Immunology (SOAI) of the American Academy of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), is pleased to announce the 2015 AAP Section on Allergy and Immunology Outstanding Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Abstract Awards for fellows-in-training and junior faculty.

This program will provide a $750 award to three fellows-in-training who submit the best abstracts involving pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) that are accepted for presentation at the 2015 AAAAI Annual Meeting. This program will also provide a $1000 award to two junior faculty members who submit the best abstracts involving pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) that are accepted for presentation at the 2015 AAAAI Annual Meeting.

All award recipients are eligible for a one year AAP and Section on Allergy and Immunology membership dues coverage.

Award selection is conducted by a combined AAP-SOAI and AAAAI committee. This AAP Section on Allergy and Immunology award does not preclude one from eligibility to receive additional travel grants and awards through other AAAAI programs.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Fellow-in-training in an accredited allergy/immunology training program in the United States and Canada who is first author on a submitted abstract and has conducted the majority of the abstract related work OR
  • A faculty member of an accredited allergy/immunology training program in the United States or Canada, who completed allergy/immunology training less then 6 years ago, who is first author on a submitted abstract and has conducted the majority of the abstract related work;
  • The fellow-in-training must be board eligible or certified in pediatrics; the faculty member must be board certified in pediatrics;
  • The abstract must describe new and/or important findings from original basic science or clinical research involving pediatric patients (birth to 21 years); and
  • The abstract is submitted online according to AAAAI abstract policies and procedures by September 8, 2014.
